Sail the British Virgin Islands!
  January 25 to February 1, 2026 $1,675

Sail the iconic British Virgin Islands, considered by many to be the top sailing destination in the world!  Sailing here is so popular there are far more yacht berths than hotel rooms!  Certainly the easiest sailing anywhere, as the islands create a calm, protected sea, an ideal destination for new sailors.  Everything else is excellent, too!: snorkeling/diving; beaches; hiking; restaurants and famous/infamous bars!  The BVI have two features not found elsewhere in the Caribbean: The Baths, a series of shallow pools loomed over by giant boulders; and Anegada, a reef island with flamingos and five-foot lizards!

The British Virgin Islands offers the perfect blend of relaxed cruising, vibrant island culture, world-class snorkeling. and unforgettable Caribbean sunsets and evenings anchored under the stars in calm bays. Short, scenic passages in the warm, steady trade winds that make the BVI a sailor’s paradise.

A Likely Itinerary:

Day 1 – Norman ("Treasure") Island: a short hop over to snorkel the Caves or the Indians, then a visit to WIllie T's floating bar or the Pirate's restaurant.

Day 2 – Cooper Island: fantastic snorkeling, and great paddleboarding in protected water.
Cooper Island Beach Club (rum bar, microbrewery) with cocktail tables in the water!

Day 3 – Virgin Gorda:  Stop at The Baths and Devil's Bay.
North Sound, Great spot for water sports.  Visit Saba Rock or Bitter End Yacht Club.

Day 4 – Anegada: Surrounded by a massive coral reef (300 shipwrecks!) Anegada is a world apart.  Perhaps the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, and the best snorkeling I've ever done!

Day 5 – Jost Van Dyke: the BVI’s social heartbeat. White Bay’s calm water and soft sand invite lazy beach hours, while iconic bars like Soggy Dollar and Hendo’s offer a festive, barefoot atmosphere.

Day 6 – Cane Garden Bay (lively and beautiful)

Day 7 – Return to Tortola

Getting There:

We'll be departing from the Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola, part of a nice resort with beach, restaurants and shops.

The most convenient flights and typically lower fares can be found to St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. (STT), then a 45-minute ferry ride is required to reach Tortola, B.V.I.  One can also fly directly to Tortola (EIS) from San Juan (SJU), on a spectacular propeller plane flight.  Ferries from St. Thomas do not run in the dark, so you will need to arrive by four p.m., or spend a night on St. Thomas before ferrying over.  I'll share airfare updates with reserved crew members.
